Happy pessimism

We all know the great advantage of pessimism – the pessimist can never be disappointed!

…Take the following example sentence: “It will not work because it has never worked before.” If, in a team of three people, a second person says: “Yes, you’re right.” – then the team has generally lost and will not be committed to completing the task or only very very laboriously and/or will not come up with a good solution. Generally, then, there is no good solution, but rather only a ‘bad’ solution. The pessimist will then be “happy” because that is what he had said all along.
